Sir Anthony Seldon

Anthony Seldon has served as Head of three schools: Brighton College, Wellington College, and Epsom College. He was also Vice Chancellor of the University of Buckingham.

His book, The Fourth Education Revolution: Will AI Diminish or Liberate Humanity?, was published six years ago. Anthony is also the historian of Downing Street and the British Prime Minister.

Alex Russell, OBE

Alex Russell is the CEO of Bourne Education Trust, which comprises 26 schools across primary, secondary, and special phases in the south-east of England. He also leads Surrey’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion strategy.

In September 2023, Alex launched AI in Education in partnership with Epsom College. Previously, he served as the headteacher of three secondary schools and was awarded an OBE for services to education in 2022.

Richard Alton

Richard Alton is the Co-chair of the Practitioners’ Panel for AI in Education and serves as Head of Digital Education for Epsom College, where he previously held the role of Deputy Head (Academic).

With 25 years of experience in education, including Deputy Head roles at two schools, Richard is particularly focused on the effective use of EdTech and AI in educating young people. He is also passionate about leveraging business intelligence to create efficient, data-rich environments that enhance learning outcomes.

Karen Barham

Karen Barham, a graduate of King’s College London, is an experienced senior leader in secondary education. Over the past ten years with the Bourne Education Trust, she has focused on driving improvements in the curriculum, staff development, and student outcomes.

After leading a Trust technology think-tank, Karen now co-chairs the Student Panel for AI in Education. In this role, she collaborates closely with students from primary, secondary, and specialist schools to gain valuable insights into how AI impacts students’ education.

Richard Beeson

Richard Beeson is an experienced education leader with 27 years of experience in both the independent and state sectors. A former secondary headteacher and Digital and AI Lead in a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), Richard now serves as the Programme Manager at AI in Education.

Richard is a Microsoft Advanced Educator, a Microsoft Educator Trainer, and a former member of several steering groups representing secondary schools in Surrey.

Chris Goodall

Chris Goodall is the Co-chair of the Practitioners’ Panel for AI in Education and serves as Head of Digital Education for the Bourne Education Trust. A pioneering leader in the integration of AI and digital technologies in education, Chris has built a career spanning IT consultancy and strategic advisory roles.

He has held positions such as IT Strategy Adviser for Surrey County Council and Head of Surrey Online School. Chris is also a certified PRINCE2 project manager.

Julie Kapsalis

Julie Kapsalis is the Principal & CEO of North East Surrey College of Technology (Nescot). Nescot has recently launched an Institute of Technology, specialising in training in cybersecurity, robotics, and artificial intelligence.

Julie has over 20 years of experience in economic development, with a focus on enterprise, skills, and social inclusion. She has served as Chair of the Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership and as an advisor to the UK Government’s task force on women’s enterprise. She also contributed to the Rose Review of Female Entrepreneurship.
