The Grange Festival Theatre

Event Description

We are delighted to share the success of our recent five-day devising project, where young people aged 10-15 immersed themselves in the exciting and evolving world of artificial intelligence. The project was led by a team of experienced and talented creatives and supported by Chris Goodall, Head of Digital Education for the Bourne Education Trust and Co-Chair of the AI in Education Practitioners Panel.

The project brought together a talented group of participants who used AI tools to help conceive and create their own contemporary opera. Over the five days, the group worked with experienced creatives to develop original storylines, write lyrics, compose music, choreograph movement, and design the staging. Throughout the process, participants learned how to interact thoughtfully with AI, asking well-formed questions, critically assessing AI-generated ideas, and using their own judgement to shape their artistic vision.

The project culminated in a successful live performance at The Grange Festival theatre, where the young participants proudly presented their original opera to an audience. The production was a clear example of how AI, when used creatively and thoughtfully, can enhance artistic expression and bring new ideas to life.

This initiative not only provided a unique opportunity for participants to engage with cutting-edge technology but also fostered key skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking. We are thrilled with the outcome of the project and look forward to continuing our exploration of AI's potential in education. The success of this project is a testament to the powerful intersection of technology and creativity, and we are excited about the further opportunities to develop this model of AI Education.
