Student Panel
Student Panel

The following principles for fair and ethical AI use in education were developed based on a comprehensive survey conducted by students for students. This initiative aimed to understand how young people perceive AI and its role in their learning experience.

Our survey was a collaborative effort involving:

  • Students on the AI in Education Student Panel. These students took the lead in designing the survey, ensuring that the questions were relevant and     engaging for their peers.
  • Support from staff. Teachers and school staff provided guidance and feedback to ensure the survey covered essential aspects of AI use in education.
  • Expertise from Professor Sam     Illingworth. With a background in survey design and pedagogy, Professor Illingworth helped refine the survey to make sure it gathered meaningful and insightful data.

These principles were developed with the aim of creating a safe, fair, and enriching learning environment for everyone. By involving students in the survey process and gathering their honest feedback, we ensured that the principles are grounded in real concerns and aspirations.

We hope these guidelines help us all use AI in ways that enhance our education and prepare both our staff and students for the future.
